Project Description
Chesterfield County Rain Gardens
As part of Chesterfield County Environmental Engineering department’s educational outreach, a series of public rain garden demonstration projects and workshops were conducted. Ecosystem Services provided design services for five rain gardens including the Clover Hill, Enon, Midlothian, and LaPrade libraries and also one at Pocahontas State Park. These projects were done with the assistance of grant funding and internal construction services provided by Chesterfield County. The workshops were a great way to interact with local residents, teach stormwater management concepts, and encourage homeowner installation of rain gardens and other stormwater and conservation practices.
