Project Description

VDACS

Our certified Nutrient Management Planner was contracted by the Virginia Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services to write urban nutrient management plans for all the Department’s facilities within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Their offices range from as far southwest to Wytheville and as far east to Melfa on the Eastern Shore. Project activities included soil sampling coordination and testing, calculation of maintained areas including turf grass and landscape beds, identification of environmentally-sensitive areas, and fertilizer application and timing planning.

Goals

  • Approved urban NMPs for all seven offices
  • Accurate and precise fertilizer application and usage
  • Reduced nutrient runoff and improved local water quality
