According to Public Law 113-89, section 22 (Homeowners Flood Insurance Act of 2014) fee exemptions for Flood Insurance Rate Map changes will now include “habitat restoration” projects as defined in the law and in the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Act, 16 USC § 3772 (5) that are, “funded in whole or part with federal or state funds.”
This law will exempt a multitude of ecosystem restoration projects including, but not limited to stream and wetland restoration from FEMA regulatory fees. Please see the links below for additional information.
