Are you passionate about using technology to create sustainable solutions and bring landscapes to life? Ecosystem Services is searching for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Technician to support projects that improve water quality, manage stormwater, and rebuild native landscapes.

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Work Model: Hybrid options available

Position Description

This position will work closely with our science and engineering teams to develop engineering plans for stream and wetland restoration and stormwater management projects. Drafting work will primarily be in AutoDesk Civil 3D. Preference for a candidate with consulting experience, and high standards for accuracy in detail from grading to erosion and sediment control measures.

Opportunities exist to leverage new technologies, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and improve our drafting approach. Preference for a candidate that is interested and informed about advancements in CAD, GIS, and restoration techniques.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Civil 3D preferred). Experience with GIS (ArcPro) mapping and/or 3D modeling software is a bonus. Preference for 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. Preference for a background in consulting.

  • Ecological Awareness: Familiarity with ecological restoration practices is a plus.

  • Team-Oriented Mindset: Ability to work collaboratively in a small team to meet time-sensitive deadlines. Looking for a candidate that communicates effectively with our project team, providing support and responding to evolving project needs.
